Varanasi witnessed an unusual meeting of two films rooted in India’s spiritual storytelling tradition as Hanuman Ansh actor Shobinaw Satyaa met the cast of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha during their visit to Kashi.
The meeting took place after Shobinaw offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Actors Dev Sharma, Anjali Arora and Rajniesh Duggal, who are part of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, were also in the holy city to seek blessings ahead of their film’s theatrical release.
The actors visited both the Kaal Bhairav Temple and Kashi Vishwanath Temple, participated in the Aarti and spoke about the place of spiritual stories in contemporary cinema.
Dev Sharma Talks About the Power of Spiritual Cinema
Dev Sharma, who portrays Shri Ram in Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, said films dealing with spirituality can offer audiences more than entertainment.

He added that spirituality can help people regain balance during difficult periods and pointed to the Hanuman Chalisa as a personal example of that strength.
“For me, the Hanuman Chalisa is one of the strongest examples of that. Listening to it or reciting it gives you a different kind of courage, strength and inner energy,” he added.
His comments came during the interaction with Shobinaw, whose Hanuman Ansh explores the life and teachings of spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj-ji.
Anjali Arora Says Her Family Was Moved by Hanuman Ansh
For Anjali Arora, the meeting carried an additional personal connection. The actor, who plays Mata Sita in Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha, revealed that her family had already watched Hanuman Ansh.

Her comments added a personal dimension to the interaction between the two films, both of which draw from India’s spiritual and cultural traditions, although their stories focus on different subjects.
Anjali had also recently visited Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand, where she sought blessings ahead of the release of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha. The visit came amid online discussion surrounding her casting as Sita.

Rajniesh Duggal Wanted to Meet Shobinaw Satyaa
Rajniesh Duggal also spoke about meeting Shobinaw during the team’s Varanasi visit.
“As soon as we heard Shobinaw was coming here, all of us genuinely wanted to meet him,” Rajniesh said.
He described a natural sense of familiarity surrounding films that explore India’s spiritual and cultural traditions.
“There is a certain warmth and connection with stories like these because they feel very close to our own culture and beliefs,” he added.
The meeting consequently became more than a promotional interaction, with the actors discussing the cultural and spiritual themes that connect their respective projects.

Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha Release Date and Cast
Directed by Abhishek Singh, Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha features Dev Sharma as Shri Ram and Anjali Arora as Mata Sita. The cast also includes Sheel Verma, Rajniesh Duggal and Nirbhay Wadhwa.
The film has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.
Presented by AJ Film Entertainment World and Ajay Kanojiya, the project is produced by Prakash Mahobiya and Sanjay Bundela, with Honey Kuldeep Agarwal and Moni Sen serving as co-producers under A Mahobiya Films Production.
Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 25 in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi.

What Is Hanuman Ansh About?
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is a spiritual drama inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji.
The film explores themes associated with his spiritual journey, devotion, love and service. The project has also remained in the spotlight during its theatrical run.
The meeting between Shobinaw and the Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha cast in Kashi therefore brought together two contemporary film projects approaching spirituality from different perspectives.
With Varanasi serving as the backdrop, the interaction also highlighted the continuing role of temples, pilgrimage and Indian spiritual traditions in the promotional journeys of films centred on faith and culture.
