Mumbai: Actor Alia Bhatt recently shared a deeply personal reflection on love, marriage, and motherhood, offering fans a rare glimpse into her life with husband Ranbir Kapoor and their daughter Raha.
In a conversation with Esquire India, Alia read out a letter she wrote to her younger self—one that spoke candidly about heartbreak, dreams, and finding lasting love.
“You’ll meet the best boy in the world”
In the letter, Alia addressed her teenage self with warmth and reassurance, referencing her longtime admiration for Ranbir Kapoor.
“Dear little me, please don’t cry over that stupid boy in high school, it’s not worth it. I promise you that one day, you’ll meet the best boy in the whole world,” she wrote.
Calling Ranbir her “safest place,” Alia added that he brings her comfort, peace, laughter, and an unspoken understanding. “You know that thing you always wanted—someone to read your mind? He will do that for you,” she said, describing him as her best friend who knows everything about her.
On motherhood and daughter Raha
Alia also reflected on motherhood, writing about how her life changed after welcoming daughter Raha in 2022.
“You’re going to have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and your heart will grow in ways that you cannot imagine,” she wrote. Adding a playful note, she joked, “She’s also going to be a little lawyer, so prep up.”
The actor encouraged her younger self to keep dreaming and to cherish her mother and sister even more.

The letter struck an emotional chord online. Alia’s mother Soni Razdan reacted with a heartfelt comment, writing, “Ohhhh. How beautiful this is. Alia… really beautiful.”

Alia and Ranbir’s journey
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor began dating while working on Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which went into production in 2018. They married in April 2022 and welcomed their daughter later that year.
The couple is set to reunite on screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal and is currently under production.
