Kolkata-based lawyer Nazia Elahi Khan has denied allegations that she made derogatory remarks against Muslims and Prophet Muhammad, asserting that viral video clips circulating online have been digitally fabricated using artificial intelligence.
Her statement comes after Mumbai’s Pydhonie Police registered a Zero FIR based on complaints linked to an allegedly offensive podcast video. The case has been filed under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and transferred to Delhi for further investigation, as the content is believed to have originated outside Maharashtra.
Accusations and FIR details
According to police sources, the complaint was filed after an Instagram video surfaced in which Khan allegedly made objectionable remarks during a podcast discussion. The complainant, identified as a local builder, claimed the statements hurt religious sentiments and could potentially incite communal tension.
Following the complaint, Mumbai Police registered a Zero FIR and initiated preliminary action before transferring jurisdiction to the appropriate police station in Delhi.
