The 75 Hard Challenge is a structured 75-day mental and physical discipline program designed to improve consistency, focus, and self-control. Unlike traditional fitness plans, the challenge emphasizes strict daily habits and discipline rather than only weight loss.
The challenge became widely popular in India after fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuria documented his own transformation journey online.
Participants are required to follow a fixed set of rules every single day for 75 consecutive days without breaks.
The 6 Rules Kritika Khurana Followed During the 75 Hard Challenge
1. Follow a Strict Diet With No Cheat Meals
Participants can choose any nutrition plan, but cheat meals are not allowed throughout the 75 days.
Kritika shared that she focused on keeping healthy food available at home to avoid binge eating and cravings.

3. Read 10 Pages of a Book Every Day
Participants must read at least 10 pages of a self-improvement or educational book daily. Audiobooks are not included under the rules.
4. Complete Two 45-Minute Workouts Daily
The challenge includes two separate workouts every day, with at least one session taking place outdoors.
Kritika said she preferred exercising early in the morning to stay consistent.
“If I don’t work out first thing in the morning, there’s a higher chance I’ll skip it,” she explained.
5. Take a Daily Progress Photo
A daily progress picture is required to track physical changes and maintain accountability throughout the challenge.
6. No Alcohol
The challenge strictly avoids alcohol consumption, regardless of occasions or celebrations.
Kritika added that small systems and planning helped her stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
“Nothing extreme — just habits that made discipline easier,” she wrote.
Is the 75 Hard Challenge Safe for Everyone?
While the challenge promotes discipline, hydration, exercise, and reading habits, many health experts caution against its rigid structure.
Potential concerns include:
- Risk of overtraining and burnout due to two daily workouts
- Excessive water intake without electrolyte balance
- Difficulty maintaining long-term sustainability
- Increased pressure for beginners or individuals with health conditions
Experts recommend consulting a doctor before starting any intense fitness program, especially for people with medical conditions or low fitness levels.
For those seeking a more flexible alternative, many fitness coaches suggest the “75 Soft” version, which includes lighter workout requirements and scheduled recovery days.
