According to data shared by Swiggy, 9,410 people ordered khichdi on 31 December, turning the humble comfort dish into one of the most surprising food trends of the night.
Swiggy’s official account summed it up humorously:
“Even today, 9,410 people are ordering khichdi. These people will be asleep by 10 pm.”

- A user in Nagpur made 93 orders in one day
- Someone in Surat ordered from 22 different restaurants
Swiggy CEO Rohit Kapoor reacted:

Biryani Still Rules
By early evening, over 90,000 burgers were delivered.
But biryani dominated the night — with 2,18,993 plates ordered by 7:30 pm.
Swiggy crowned it simply:
