Rise and Fall Season 2 has begun its new run with a fresh mix of contestants, challenges and conversations. Among the participants this season is Sara Gurpal, who has now opened up about joining the reality show, Virender Sehwag taking over as host and why the changes surrounding the second season encouraged her to come on board.
In an exclusive conversation with Times of India TV, Sara spoke enthusiastically about Sehwag’s presence on the show. The actor and singer revealed that the former Indian cricketer is one of the things she is most excited about this season.
Sara Gurpal Excited About Virender Sehwag’s Presence
Speaking about Sehwag, Sara highlighted their shared Haryana roots and said she considers him a major inspiration.
“Unke show mein hone ko lekar kahun, toh I think woh meri sabse badi excitement hai is show ke baare mein, aur sabse badi inspiration bhi. Kyunki Haryana se hain hamare sher, aur hum bhi Haryana se hain, toh maza aayega,” Sara said.
She also revealed that she has never met Sehwag before and is looking forward to their first interaction.
“Mujhe lagta hai ki Haryana-Haryana bolte hue dil bhi bahut milte hain, aur mujhe maza aayega unse milkar. Main pehle unse nahi mili hoon,” she added.
Sara Says She Relates to Sehwag’s Straightforward Nature
Sara also pointed out a personality trait that she feels she shares with the former cricketer.
“Woh cheezon ko lekar bade straightforward hain, and mujhe bhi lagta hai ki main kaafi had tak aisi hi hoon, so it’ll be fun,” she said.
Her comments suggest that she is particularly looking forward to the direct and candid interactions that Sehwag may bring to the reality show.
Host Change Was One Reason Sara Said Yes
The second season has also brought a change behind the host’s podium. After Ashneer Grover hosted the first season, Virender Sehwag is leading the new season.
Asked about the change, Sara said she welcomed the developments surrounding the second season and revealed that they played a role in her decision to participate.
“To be very honest, I’m very happy with the changes the most. That was one of the reasons I said yes,” Sara said.
Rather than simply returning to the format she had already seen, Sara said the changes made the opportunity more appealing to her.
Sara Gurpal’s Family Encouraged Her to Take the Opportunity
Sara also recalled how her family reacted when she decided to participate in Rise and Fall 2. According to the contestant, her mother was happy with the decision, while her sister, who regularly watches reality television, encouraged her to use the show as an opportunity to prove herself.
“Mamma was very happy. My sister watches all Bigg Boss, sab dekhti hai reality. So she told me that it’s a very good opportunity to prove yourself, as I couldn’t prove myself enough in Bigg Boss,” Sara recalled.
Sara previously appeared on Bigg Boss, and she said her sister felt that Rise and Fall 2 could give her another opportunity to demonstrate what she can do in a reality-show environment.
‘I Want to Do It for Myself’
Explaining why the opportunity mattered to her personally, Sara acknowledged that she still feels something was left unfinished from her earlier reality-show experience.
“And I think she’s right. Kahin na kahin that thing is missing, and I want to do it for myself,” she said.
For Sara, therefore, her participation in Rise and Fall 2 is not only about being part of another reality show. Her comments indicate that she also sees the season as an opportunity to challenge herself and address something she feels she could not accomplish during her previous television stint.

Rise and Fall Season 2 premiered on September 26 and is hosted by Virender Sehwag.
The season features a diverse group of contestants, including Kajal Raghwani, Anish Bhagat, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Gautam Gulati, Swara Bhasker, Kaira Anu, Karan Patel, Shehzad Poonawalla, Niharika Tiwari, Sara Gurpal, Irina Rudakova, Raj Grover, Manish Kashyap and Tej Pratap Yadav.
With a new host and a fresh group of contestants, the second season is now unfolding with Sara Gurpal hoping to make the most of her latest reality-show opportunity.
