The Viral Post That Sparked Buzz

Chahal shared a screenshot of a court ruling that read:

“Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands.”

Along with it, he wrote:

“Maa Kasam Khao Nahi Paltoge iss Decision Seh.”

Although the post was deleted shortly after being uploaded, screenshots spread rapidly across social media platforms. Fans began debating whether the cricketer was expressing his views on the court’s decision or hinting at his own past with Dhanashree Verma.

Dhanashree Verma Responds to Alimony Rumours

Recently, during her appearance on Rise and Fall, Dhanashree Verma directly addressed the rumours surrounding their divorce and alleged alimony demand. She called the speculation “baseless and unnecessary.”

“Our divorce was mutual and happened quickly. We dated for around 6–7 months before getting married and were together for about four years. Just because I choose to stay silent, it doesn’t mean people can make up stories,” Dhanashree said.

She added, “My parents taught me to justify myself only to people who matter. Why waste energy explaining to strangers? It hurts to see false things being spread, but I’ll always maintain respect for him. That’s who I am.”

Her Family’s Clarification

Earlier, Dhanashree’s family had also issued a strong statement addressing rumours about a supposed ₹60-crore alimony demand.

They wrote,

“We are deeply outraged by these baseless claims. Such an amount was never asked, offered, or discussed. These false reports are reckless and have caused unnecessary distress to both families. We urge the media to fact-check before publishing and respect everyone’s privacy.”

Social Media Divided Over Chahal’s Post

Chahal’s now-deleted post has triggered mixed reactions. While some users supported him, applauding his “boldness,” others criticised the timing and tone, suggesting it was “insensitive” given how public their separation had been.

Despite the buzz, neither Chahal nor his team has issued any official clarification about the intention behind the post.
