Yash Says Radhika Pandit “Won’t Be Happy” Watching His Intimate Scenes in Toxic

Yash has opened up about the reaction his wife, actor Radhika Pandit, may have to his intimate scenes with Kiara Advani in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, admitting that she “won’t be happy” watching those portions of the film.

The actor discussed the subject during his appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat. His comments come after the song Tabaahi, featuring Yash and Kiara, attracted attention online for its intimate sequences.

Yash said the scenes were not included simply for shock value. According to him, they were required by the story and represented a part of the character and narrative that took him beyond his personal comfort zone.

“I’ve also stepped out of my comfort zone. It’s not easy for me to do these things, but the story demands it, and it’s a crucial part of it,” Yash said during the interview.

He also spoke candidly about Radhika’s likely reaction. While acknowledging that she would not necessarily be comfortable seeing such scenes, Yash stressed that the situation had not affected the trust within their marriage.

“Of course, she (Radhika) won’t be happy about it, but that doesn’t mean she’s upset or anything, because she trusts me,” he said.

Yash pointed out that Radhika is also an actor and therefore understands the distinction between a performer and the character being portrayed on screen. He explained that, while filming, he is approaching the material as an actor carrying out the requirements of a role.

“The important thing is, she’s also an actor. She understands it’s a job, and when I’m performing, it’s an actor doing their part. It’s not her husband,” Yash added.

Yash says discomfort is natural

The KGF star also acknowledged that intimate scenes can be difficult for partners to watch. Rather than dismissing that discomfort, he said it was a natural reaction.

“I think every partner would feel uncomfortable about this. I don’t want to lie. Every partner feels that way,” Yash said.

At the same time, he described filmmaking as a form of craft and art, arguing that certain scenes can serve a larger purpose within a story. For Yash, the material in Toxic is connected to the film’s broader themes and the generation it aims to address.

He suggested that some creative choices are made because filmmakers believe they are important to the story or because they can communicate ideas that audiences, including younger viewers, may engage with.

Yash has described Toxic as a film aimed at Gen Z, with the story examining differences between younger people and older generations.

The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash in a dual role. Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth are among the other actors in the cast.

The discussion surrounding Yash and Kiara’s scenes has added another layer of attention to the film ahead of its release. However, Yash’s comments make clear that he views the sequences as part of the film’s narrative rather than something intended solely to provoke a reaction.

For Radhika Pandit, Yash believes her own experience as an actor allows her to understand the professional demands behind such scenes, even if watching them may still be uncomfortable on a personal level.
