Malayalam actor Swasika returned to India on Wednesday after being stranded in Abu Dhabi for three days amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. She landed safely at Cochin International Airport and spoke to reporters about her experience.
Swasika clarified that while there was concern among travellers, the situation was not chaotic.
“Heavy panic situation is not there, but still, as we are from another country, definitely we will get a little panic,” she said.
Her husband, actor Prem Jacob, added that she had travelled alone and might have felt calmer had he been with her.
‘Everything Was Under Control’
The actor revealed she had originally planned to return on February 28 but was delayed due to regional airspace restrictions. She credited her travel agency for assisting with rebooking her flight.

Others Also Return Amid Escalation
On March 3, actors Esha Gupta and Sonal Chauhan also confirmed via social media that they had safely returned to India after being stranded in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively.
Background: Escalation in West Asia
The disruption followed strikes launched by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28. In retaliation, Iran reportedly carried out attacks targeting Israel and US-linked installations in Gulf countries, including Bahrain.
Reports indicated explosions in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar and Kuwait as tensions escalated across the region. Damage was also reported at Abu Dhabi International Airport, impacting flight operations.
In India, operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport were affected for consecutive days, with dozens of international flights cancelled and hundreds delayed due to airspace restrictions.
