Urvashi Calls Radikaa Sarathkumar Her Role Model at ‘Parimala and Co’ Event

Actor Urvashi shared a heartfelt revelation during the promotional event of her upcoming film Parimala and Co, stating that veteran actor Radikaa Sarathkumar has always been her role model in the film industry.

Speaking at the event, Urvashi mentioned that despite spending decades in cinema, no one had previously asked her about the person she admired most in the industry. Standing beside Radikaa Sarathkumar, Urvashi revealed for the first time that the senior actor had inspired her throughout her career.

Urvashi Praises Radikaa’s Support and Friendship

Urvashi recalled watching several of Radikaa Sarathkumar’s films and specifically mentioned classics like Indru Poi Naalai Vaa (1981) and Poi Satchi (1982) as some of her favorites.

The actor also shared how warmly Radikaa treated her during the early days of her cinema journey.

“When I entered the film industry, she was the only heroine who treated me in a very friendly manner,” Urvashi said during the interaction.

Her statement received applause from the audience and reflected the long-standing bond between the two actors.

A Friendship Built Through Cinema

Over the years, Urvashi and Radikaa Sarathkumar have worked together in multiple films. They previously shared screen space in the 1994 film Veera Padhakkam, which also starred Sathyaraj, Raghuvaran, and director Manivannan.

More recently, the actors appeared together in Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu (2022), directed by Kishore Tirumala and featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Khushbu Sundar in key roles.

At the event, Radikaa also expressed her admiration for Urvashi and praised her talent as an artist.

“I like Urvashi a lot as an actor. Kamal Haasan sir and I often speak about her talent,” Radikaa shared. She added humorously that although she scolds Urvashi often, the latter understands the affection behind it.

Lighthearted Moments Bring Laughter

The event also featured several humorous exchanges between the stars. Radikaa admitted that she initially thought Parimala was a reference to Urvashi’s popular 1983 film Mundhanai Mudichu before the actor clarified the context.

“My only complaint is that they should have named the film just Parimala instead of Parimala Kizhavi,” Radikaa joked, drawing laughter from Urvashi and co-star Jayaram.

Continuing the fun interaction, Radikaa also referred to the phrase “Thaai Kizhavi,” saying she would proudly embrace the title without hesitation.

Urvashi will next appear in director Pandiraaj’s upcoming film Parimala and Co, co-starring veteran actor Jayaram. The film has already generated attention for its cast and the chemistry shared by its lead actors during promotional events.
