Suhana Khan Opens Up About Social Media Scrutiny: “Facing Mean Comments Has Made Me Appreciate Kindness Even More”

Suhana Khan has spoken candidly about the challenges of growing up in the public eye and dealing with criticism on social media. In a conversation with NDTV, the actor reflected on online scrutiny, self-confidence and the lessons she has learned from both negative comments and positive interactions with fans.

The actor, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, was discussing her role as Veronica in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies when the conversation turned towards confidence and the impact of social media on young people.

Suhana Khan on dealing with online criticism

Suhana admitted that handling criticism on social media has not always been easy for her. Rather than suggesting that she has completely learned to ignore negative comments, she acknowledged that she is still working on developing a healthier way of dealing with them.

“I don’t handle it very well, but I’m trying,” she said.

Her experience with The Archies

Suhana also discussed her debut project, The Archies, in the same conversation. She revealed that she had not actually read the original Archies comic before being offered a role in the film.

Her mother, Gauri Khan, was familiar with the comic, while Suhana mainly knew it as a story involving a love triangle before joining the project.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies introduced a new generation of performers to the screen, with Suhana playing Veronica Lodge alongside Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor and the rest of the ensemble cast.

For Suhana, the project became an important first step into feature-film acting and an opportunity to learn while working with an established filmmaker.
