India women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana has been honoured by Barbie ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, becoming part of the brand’s first-ever Barbie Dream Team—a global initiative celebrating women who have broken barriers and achieved excellence in their fields.
Mandhana, one of the most prominent figures in women’s cricket, is the first cricketer to receive a one-of-a-kind Barbie doll modelled in her likeness. The tribute recognises her outstanding contributions to the sport and her influence as a role model inspiring young athletes around the world.
The 29-year-old joins a distinguished list of global achievers honoured by Barbie, including tennis legend Serena Williams, who holds 23 Grand Slam singles titles—the most in the Open Era.
The limited-edition dolls are part of Barbie’s campaign aimed at encouraging girls to pursue their dreams and see sport as a powerful pathway to success.

She made her international debut in 2013 and has since built an impressive record. In ODI cricket, Mandhana has scored 5,411 runs with 14 centuries, while in T20 Internationals she has amassed 4,231 runs, including one century and 33 half-centuries.
Her performances played a major role in India’s historic Women’s World Cup triumph last year, where she scored 434 runs in nine matches, averaging 54.25 with a strike rate of 99.08, including a highest score of 109.
Success With Royal Challengers Bengaluru in WPL
Mandhana also enjoyed success in franchise cricket with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Leading the side to their second WPL title, she finished as the tournament’s top run-scorer with 377 runs.
