Puja Chery Confirmed as Female Lead in Redoan Rony’s ‘Domm’

Puja Chery has officially been confirmed as the female lead of Redoan Rony’s upcoming film ‘Domm’, ending months of speculation surrounding the project’s casting.

The actress had previously been reported as part of the film, but neither the director nor the production house had confirmed her involvement at the time. The casting has now been officially verified by Alpha-i Entertainment, one of the production partners behind the project.

Puja Chery Joins Chanchal Chowdhury and Afran Nisho

‘Domm’ is being developed as a major joint production involving SVF, Alpha-i Entertainment and Chorki. Alongside Puja Chery, the film will feature acclaimed actors Chanchal Chowdhury and Afran Nisho in key roles.

The project is being directed by Redoan Rony, who has described the film as a story of survival and human resilience. Although several details about the plot are being kept under wraps, the filmmaker has indicated that the narrative will explore the strength found within ordinary people.

According to Rony, the film can be understood as a story about the struggle to endure. He has also hinted at an international element that the production team plans to reveal at a later stage.

‘Domm’ Shooting Expected to Begin in Kazakhstan

According to production sources, filming for ‘Domm’ is scheduled to begin in Kazakhstan toward the end of October.

However, Alpha-i Entertainment has yet to publicly disclose the complete shooting schedule or the full cast lineup.

Shahriar Shakil, head of Alpha-i Entertainment, confirmed that the film is moving forward but indicated that some production details remain premature to announce.

“Domm is happening; that much we can confirm. But it’s still too early to comment on the exact shooting dates or the full cast lineup beyond Chanchal,” he said.

The production is expected to combine locations and elements beyond Bangladesh, with the international connection forming part of the film’s broader narrative.

A True Story With a Survival Theme

‘Domm’ is reportedly based on a true story, giving the project an additional layer of real-world significance.

Rather than presenting itself simply as a conventional commercial drama, the film is being positioned around survival, endurance and the hidden strength of ordinary individuals. Director Rony has deliberately kept the central storyline under wraps, suggesting that more details will be revealed as production progresses.

The combination of a true-story foundation, an international backdrop and a cast led by Chanchal Chowdhury, Afran Nisho and Puja Chery has already made ‘Domm’ one of the more closely watched upcoming Bangladeshi film projects.
