Rashmika Mandanna has officially signed the much-awaited biopic on legendary singer M.S. Subbalaxmi, with the makers planning a special announcement later this month.

Rashmika Mandanna is set to take on one of the most challenging roles of her career. The actress has officially signed the upcoming biopic based on the life of legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee M.S. Subbalaxmi.

The project is being planned by producer Allu Aravind in association with Rockline Venkatesh, while National Award-winning filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, known for directing Jersey, is set to helm the film.

Rashmika Mandanna comes on board

The casting process for the central role reportedly involved several names. Sai Pallavi was initially approached for the part but could not take up the project because of her existing commitments.

Rukmini Vasanth was also considered during the casting process before the makers eventually decided to approach Rashmika Mandanna. The actress took some time before committing to the ambitious project, but she has now officially signed the film.

The makers are expected to formally announce Rashmika’s involvement later this month through a special poster.

Actress to prepare extensively for the role
