Raghav Juyal Says He Was Dropped From a Film Before Shooting Began, Calls the Experience ‘Heartbreaking’

Mumbai: Actor and dancer Raghav Juyal has opened up about one of the biggest disappointments of his acting career, revealing that he was dropped from a film shortly before filming was scheduled to begin. Speaking about the experience, Raghav said he later learned that the project’s lead actor had allegedly requested the filmmakers not to cast him.

The actor reflected on the incident while discussing the highs and lows of his journey from television to Bollywood, saying the setback eventually led him to opportunities that reshaped his career.

‘The Calls Suddenly Stopped Coming’

Raghav recalled that he had been selected for a film and was preparing to begin shooting when communication from the production team unexpectedly stopped.

According to him, he later received an explanation that the makers were looking for a bigger face for the project.

While initially disappointed, Raghav said he tried to take the rejection lightly and even joked about the reason given to him.

However, he later came to believe that the decision had been influenced by the film’s lead actor.

He said learning this left him deeply hurt at the time.

Why He Now Sees It Differently

Looking back, Raghav believes missing out on the project ultimately benefited his career.

‘Kill’ Became the Turning Point

Raghav credited Kill, backed by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, with changing the trajectory of his acting career.

The action thriller earned widespread praise, with Raghav’s performance receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.

Before Kill, he had also appeared in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, but the actor believes Kill established him as a serious performer capable of leading major projects.

Confidence in His Journey

Reflecting on his 16-year career, Raghav expressed strong belief in his ability to achieve his goals.

He said that throughout his career he had set ambitious targets for himself—from becoming a successful dancer to a popular television host—and believes the same mindset is guiding his acting career.

The actor added that he is confident he can eventually become one of Bollywood’s leading stars through consistent effort and dedication.

Surge in Film Offers

Following the success of Kill, Raghav said he experienced a dramatic increase in acting opportunities.

According to him, he received around 750 scripts in 2024, many of them offering him lead roles.

Among the projects he chose are:

• Ikaai

He also said he consciously decided to stop accepting roles centered around being the hero’s friend after appearing in The Ba*ds of Bollywood**, preferring projects where he could play more prominent characters.

Solo Lead in ‘Bhai Tera Star Hai’

Raghav’s upcoming film Bhai Tera Star Hai marks an important milestone in his career as his first project as a solo lead.

The actor hopes the film will further establish him as a leading man following the momentum created by Kill.

With several projects lined up, Raghav believes the coming years represent a new phase in his career, built on perseverance after years of setbacks.
