After facing disappointment in three consecutive attempts, Neha remained committed to her goal and eventually cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2021. At just 24 years of age, she secured All India Rank (AIR) 569 with a total score of 960 marks, proving that persistence can make a significant difference in one of India’s toughest competitive exams.

Three Attempts, Three Setbacks — But No Surrender

Like thousands of aspiring civil servants across the country, Neha Byadwal dreamt of joining India’s administrative services.

For many candidates, repeated failures can become a reason to abandon their goal. However, Neha chose a different path.

Instead of giving up, she focused on identifying weaknesses in her preparation strategy and continued refining her approach. Her commitment remained strong despite the setbacks.

The breakthrough finally arrived in her fourth attempt when she successfully cleared the examination and secured AIR 569.

The Change That Helped Improve Her Focus

One of the major adjustments Neha reportedly made during her preparation involved reducing distractions.

At the time, she had built a substantial social media presence with more than one lakh followers. However, she realized that frequent engagement with online platforms was affecting her concentration and study schedule.

To improve focus, Neha decided to distance herself from social media and significantly reduce online distractions during her preparation period.

According to reports, she stayed away from social networking platforms for nearly three years while preparing seriously for the examination.

This allowed her to devote more time to revision, answer-writing practice, mock tests, and strengthening her understanding of key subjects.
