“With a big and heavy heart, I have rejected many big-budget, well-packaged films due to the benchmark set by the roles of Sita Mahalakshmi and Yashna.”

The comment reflects her focus on roles that challenge her acting skills rather than just commercial appeal.

While some fans appreciated her honesty, others criticized the statement, pointing out that her performances in certain commercial films, such as Son of Sardar 2 and Do Deewane Seher Mein, did not match the high standards she mentions. Film enthusiasts argue that if she truly prioritizes quality, some of her past work seems inconsistent with her current claims.

Supporters, however, insist that her statement primarily reflects her selective choices in Telugu cinema, where she has been more cautious about picking scripts.

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under the Annapurna Studios banner in collaboration with SS Creations and Suniel Narang Production, the film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with Danush Bhaskar handling cinematography and Kodati Pavan Kalyan as editor.

With Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla postponed to April 16, Dacoit is expected to draw significant attention at the box office in both Hindi and Telugu markets.
