Actor Huma Qureshi has shared a candid perspective on her relationship with the paparazzi, days after veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan’s controversial “gande pant” remark sparked backlash from photographers and social media users alike.

Speaking to India Today, the Delhi Crime 3 actor acknowledged that while the paparazzi often face criticism, celebrities also rely on them when it suits their professional needs.

“I think they are also important. I won’t lie, but we use them when we need to promote our films or bring a certain aspect of our lives into the public eye,” Huma said.

She pointed out that actors often invite photographers to film premieres or alert them when they want to be spotted. “When we want to be seen somewhere, we call them. So I don’t want to put all the blame on them,” she added, stressing that the relationship is a two-way street.

However, Huma also spoke honestly about the challenges women in the industry frequently face. She highlighted issues such as intrusive personal questions, uncomfortable camera angles, and moments where boundaries are crossed.

“If you want to intrude on my privacy, you will ask questions that I won’t find appropriate. There’s a limit people should not cross, but we do cross it. As a female actress, I have experienced all of this,” she said, underlining the need for basic respect and sensitivity.
