Elvish Yadav on Red Flags, Trust and Hiding Past Relationships

Social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 winner Elvish Yadav recently shared his candid views on relationships during an exclusive Zoom interaction.

Elvish, who is currently hosting the dating reality series Engaged 2 alongside actor Jiya Shankar, addressed whether hiding past relationships from a partner should be considered a red or green flag.

‘It’s a Red Flag,’ Says Elvish

When asked if he would be comfortable with a partner concealing previous relationships, Elvish responded clearly: it is a red flag.

He explained that when entering a relationship, both individuals should be transparent about their past. According to him, openness strengthens the foundation of a partnership. If details surface later, it can create unnecessary conflict and mistrust.

Elvish emphasised that honesty from the beginning helps avoid misunderstandings and builds long-term stability.

What About Friends of the Opposite Gender?

The conversation also touched upon whether he would be comfortable if his partner had close friends of the opposite gender.

Elvish said that context matters. If he has met the friends, understands their nature and trusts their intentions, he would not object. However, if he senses negative intentions and communicates concerns that are ignored, he would view that as a red flag.

If his partner respects his perspective and maintains healthy boundaries, he considers that a green flag.

Jiya Shankar echoed similar sentiments. She stated that friendships are healthy, but boundaries are essential. According to her, issues arise when those friendships blur lines beyond mutual respect.

Clear Stand Against Cheating

Both Elvish and Jiya made it clear that cheating is unacceptable in their view.

Elvish said he cannot tolerate disrespect or infidelity in a relationship. Jiya added that cheating cannot be justified or renamed unless both partners mutually agree to an open arrangement. For her, dishonesty and betrayal are complete deal-breakers.
