Chinmayi Says Jani Master’s Wife Ayesha Asked Her Not To Talk About Abuse Case, Confident Of Favourable Verdict

Playback singer and voice artist Chinmayi Sripada has once again spoken out about the sexual abuse case involving choreographer Jani Master, who is currently facing charges under the POCSO Act. Chinmayi revealed that Jani’s wife, Ayesha, allegedly contacts her every time she speaks publicly about the case — asking her not to discuss it further.

The controversy reignited after Jani Master recently shared pictures with music composer AR Rahman, announcing their collaboration for the film Peddi. According to Chinmayi, she personally asked Rahman about his decision to work with Jani, to which he replied that he “had no idea” about the ongoing case.

Chinmayi on Jani Master’s Alleged Abuse

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi wrote that Jani’s case was “deeply disturbing” and involved both grooming and sexual assault of a minor girl.

She stated:

“His personal ecosystem paints it as a ‘consensual relationship’, not understanding that a 16-year-old minor cannot give consent. When one is the adult, it’s the adult’s responsibility to not get involved with a minor.”

The singer added that Jani is wealthy and well-connected, which could make it difficult for the survivor to get justice.

“He is really rich and heavily connected. The chances of the girl getting justice in this ecosystem are slim,” she wrote.

Ayesha Allegedly Calls Chinmayi

Chinmayi further claimed that Jani’s wife, Ayesha, has repeatedly called her whenever she mentions the case publicly.

“Each time I speak about this issue, his wife calls saying ‘don’t talk about it’. They are 100% sure of being proven innocent apparently — well, all the best to them. Their confidence is everything,” Chinmayi stated.

She warned that if Jani is cleared of charges, the case could become a “playbook” for other offenders who misuse their position of power.

“When that happens, everyone will say he is innocent and reward him with work — not realising that we collectively failed,” she said, adding that such outcomes could encourage others to abuse minors without fear of consequence.

Jani Master’s Sexual Abuse Case

The allegations against Jani Master date back to 2020. A 21-year-old woman, who had worked as his assistant choreographer, accused him of sexually assaulting her during a work trip to Mumbai when she was a minor.

The survivor alleged that Jani continued to harass and threaten her for years. Following her complaint, police added sections under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In September 2024, Jani Master was arrested in Goa and brought to Hyderabad for questioning. He is currently out on bail while the case remains under judicial consideration.

Chinmayi Sripada has long been a prominent voice in India’s #MeToo movement, speaking out against workplace harassment and advocating for survivors in the entertainment industry.

Her renewed focus on Jani Master’s case has reignited debate about power dynamics and accountability in Tollywood, with fans divided over her latest revelations.

The singer concluded her statement expressing hope that the survivor would emerge stronger:

“All I can hope and pray is that the girl becomes successful and proves a point to the society that celebrates her abuser.”
