Actress Anya Singh is making headlines with her powerful performance as Sanya, the sharp and strong-headed manager of Lakshya’s character, Aasmaan Singh, in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba**ds Of Bollywood*, now streaming on Netflix.
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Anya revealed that while filming the Netflix series, she was also shooting for Amar Kaushik’s horror-comedy blockbuster Stree 2, in which she plays Chitti, a pivotal new character in the much-loved universe.
On Playing Chitti in Stree 2
Anya described Chitti’s journey as central to Stree 2’s narrative, as the character faces terrifying encounters with Sarkata, the movie’s sinister villain. When asked about returning for the third installment, the actress shared her excitement but admitted the script is still under development.
“I pray and hope that Chitti has an arc in the third part,” Anya said.
“I would love to go back on that set because it was an absolute treat to work with Amar (Kaushik) sir and the whole team.”
Switching Between Two Contrasting Worlds
The actress revealed the challenge of balancing two completely different projects shot in contrasting settings — The Ba**ds Of Bollywood* in Mumbai and Stree 2 in Chanderi, a small town.

“Costumes played a huge role in switching characters. Going from shirts, skirts, and shorts to Chitti’s traditional clothes immediately changed the way I talked and walked.”
Freedom to Experiment on Set
Anya credited director Amar Kaushik and her co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana for creating a collaborative environment on the Stree 2 set.
“When I joined the shoot, Amar sir had made some last-minute tweaks to the scenes. I was really nervous because this is a world that audiences already love, and I was entering with a smaller part. My goal was to leave a mark in some way,” Anya confessed.
“Amar sir gives you a lot of freedom to play. We went with the flow and built a lot from what was on paper. It’s because of his vision for Chitti that I was able to pull it off with ease despite working on two projects at once.”
