A case has been registered against Malayalam actor Lakshmi Priya, her husband Jayesh, and Sub-Inspector Reshma of the Thrippunithura Women’s Cell following a court directive related to a complaint filed by actor and former Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) joint secretary Ansiba Hassan.
The case was registered by the Hill Palace Police in Ernakulam after the Thrippunithura Magistrate Court ordered an investigation into the allegations raised by Ansiba.
What the FIR States
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the dispute originated from a WhatsApp message allegedly sent by Ansiba Hassan to Lakshmi Priya’s phone on December 10, 2025.
The complaint states that Lakshmi Priya subsequently approached police authorities, alleging that the message had affected her marital relationship after being seen by her husband.

The FIR records that she arrived at approximately 10:45 a.m. and was allegedly made to wait before being questioned.
Allegations Raised by Ansiba Hassan
The FIR includes allegations that during the inquiry process, Ansiba was questioned for nearly an hour and was allegedly threatened with criminal proceedings.
The complaint further alleges that Lakshmi Priya arrived at the Women’s Cell during the inquiry and questioned Ansiba in the presence of the investigating officer.
According to the FIR, Ansiba was allegedly instructed to contact Jayesh over the phone and apologise.

Dissatisfied with the outcome, Ansiba approached the Thrippunithura Magistrate Court seeking further action.
After reviewing the petition, the court directed police to register a case and conduct a formal investigation into the allegations.

Police have registered the case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Kerala Police Act.

This is not the first instance in which Ansiba Hassan has sought judicial intervention after challenging police decisions.
Earlier, the Ernakulam District and Sessions Court reportedly directed authorities to register a case against actor Tiny Tom following another complaint filed by Ansiba after she questioned police inaction regarding her allegations.
Those proceedings are separate from the present case.
Investigation to Determine Facts
At this stage, the registration of the case marks the beginning of a formal investigation ordered by the court.
Investigators are expected to examine documents, statements, station records, and other relevant evidence before determining whether the allegations can be substantiated.
Neither a court verdict nor a final determination of criminal liability has been made in the matter.
