Alix Earle Opens Up About Alex Cooper Fallout: ‘I Am Scared of Her’

Alix Earle is finally addressing one of the most talked-about chapters of her recent life: her fallout with Alex Cooper.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the release of her Netflix reality series Earle Meets World, the social media personality spoke about the strained relationship with Cooper, her former collaborator at Unwell Network, and why she chose not to respond publicly when the situation escalated online.

Earle said she did not know how Cooper would react to the series, but insisted that she was trying to move away from worrying about the former business relationship and concentrate on the positive aspects of the show.

“I’m not sure how she will respond actually,” Earle said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She added that constantly worrying about another person’s reaction was not helping her and that she was attempting to focus on the experience of making the series.

The tension between Earle and Cooper became particularly visible in April, when Cooper publicly challenged Earle to speak directly about whatever disagreement existed between them.

The moment came after Cooper noticed that Earle had liked social media posts that were critical of her. Cooper then posted a video asking Earle to stop hiding behind other people and explain what the issue was.

Earle responded in the comments with, “Okay on it!!!”

Despite that response, she did not subsequently publish the confrontation many followers appeared to be waiting for.

In Earle Meets World, Earle explains that she believed she was being pushed into a public exchange and was concerned about what could happen if she responded emotionally.

“I feel like I’m being baited into saying something,” Earle explained in the series.

She also described herself as being “scared of Alex Cooper”, saying that fear and uncertainty played a major role in her decision to remain quiet.

Earle says she felt ‘taken advantage of’

The disagreement did not appear suddenly. According to Earle, her concerns about the relationship had developed over time.

Earle previously worked with Cooper’s Unwell Network, where she hosted the Hot Mess podcast. The podcast launched in 2023, but Earle said she learned that she was no longer working with the network through media reports in February 2025.

Looking back, Earle said she had initially been extremely excited to work with Cooper, whom she considered an idol. Over time, however, she said her perception of the professional relationship changed.

“I constantly felt taken advantage of and used and mistreated and manipulated,” Earle said while discussing the experience with her family on the reality series.

Her comments point to what she describes as a pattern rather than one isolated disagreement.

One of the experiences Earle discussed involved her appearance on Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2023.

Earle recalled feeling uncomfortable about some of the sexual questions raised during the conversation. She said alcohol was involved while they were filming and that she answered questions despite not feeling completely comfortable with the direction of the discussion.

After the interview, Earle said she asked Cooper to remove some of the material. According to Earle, Cooper declined, telling her that the content was funny.

For Earle, however, the experience became more difficult with time.

She said she had not fully considered what it would mean for intimate details about her personal life to remain permanently available online. While speaking with her family, Earle became emotional as she reflected on the trust she believed she had placed in Cooper.

The issue, she suggested, was not simply embarrassment. Earle said she now thinks about how such material could affect her future and how her children might eventually encounter it online.

The fallout with Cooper becomes a family discussion in Earle Meets World, with several of Earle’s relatives sharing their opinions about the situation.

Her mother, Alisa, strongly defended her daughter and described Cooper as a “bully”. Earle’s sister Ashtin also expressed distrust toward Cooper, saying she disliked her “aura” and believed statements could potentially be turned around and used against someone.

Earle’s father, TJ, meanwhile, raised concerns about the professional support his daughter received while producing her podcast through Unwell.

These family conversations give the Netflix series a perspective beyond the social media speculation surrounding the dispute. Rather than presenting the disagreement solely through online posts, the show follows Earle as she discusses the emotional consequences of the situation with people close to her.

Family controversy made the experience more personal

Earle also connected her feelings about Cooper to an earlier episode in her family’s public life.

During her Call Her Daddy appearance, Earle spoke about her father’s affair with Ashley Dupré, who later became his wife. Earle said she regretted discussing aspects of the family situation so openly because of the impact it had on those around her.

According to Earle, she had initially believed that sharing the story with Cooper was a meaningful experience because of how much she respected her at the time. Later, she felt that the decision had caused additional pain within her family.

Dupré also spoke about the aftermath, describing that period as one of the hardest experiences of her life.

Earle says there was no single cause behind the breakdown

While fans may be looking for one definitive incident that explains the disagreement, Earle does not frame the situation that way.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she said there were “a bunch of things over time” that contributed to what she regarded as an unhealthy working relationship.

For Earle, the more important part of Earle Meets World was not documenting every individual disagreement. Instead, she wanted viewers to see what it was like to deal with the pressure of being expected to respond publicly while she was still trying to understand what she wanted to say.

The reality series captures her returning to her parents’ home in New Jersey and struggling emotionally with the situation. At one point, she is shown crying and questioning what her next move should be.

That vulnerability, Earle told THR, was part of what made the footage meaningful. She acknowledged that watching someone deal with a public controversy from the outside can make the solution appear simple, but the reality can be considerably more complicated when the person involved is living through it.

The message Earle considered sending Cooper

One of the most revealing moments in the series comes when Earle reads a draft message she had written for Cooper.

The draft was highly critical of Cooper and accused her of manipulating the situation and prioritising money over morals. Earle also alleged that she had felt taken advantage of when she was young and inexperienced in the entertainment business.

However, the series does not establish whether Earle ultimately sent the message.

Her hesitation was also linked to concerns about the possible legal consequences of speaking publicly. That fear appears to have contributed to her decision to hold back rather than turn the disagreement into an extended social media battle.

For now, reconciliation does not appear to be on the immediate horizon.

When The Hollywood Reporter asked Earle whether she had spoken with Cooper since the fallout, she said she had not.

She also did not provide a clear indication that the two would be rebuilding their relationship anytime soon.
