Akriti Agarwal Announces Separation From Cricketer Prithvi Shaw: ‘Respect Our Privacy’

Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and social media personality Akriti Agarwal have ended their engagement, around six months after announcing the relationship milestone publicly.

Akriti confirmed the separation through a statement shared on Instagram, explaining that the decision was mutual and followed differences in their goals and circumstances for the future.

Sharing the news with her followers, Akriti said that she and her fiancé had decided to go their separate ways after recognising that their future paths were different.

“With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future.”

She acknowledged that the two still cared deeply for each other but said they had accepted that continuing the relationship was no longer the right decision.

“As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways.”

Neither Akriti nor Prithvi has publicly provided further details about the circumstances behind their separation.

Akriti Asks Fans Not to Speculate

Along with announcing the end of their engagement, Akriti requested that people respect their privacy during what she described as a difficult period.

She also wished both of them well as they begin the next phase of their lives separately.

“I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward.”

Akriti concluded her statement by specifically asking followers not to speculate about the reasons behind the decision.

“I kindly request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time and refrain from speculating or making assumptions about the reasons behind our decision.”

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal Had Announced Their Engagement in March

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal had made their relationship public in March 2026 when they announced their engagement. Shaw shared photographs from the ceremony on social media at the time.

Their relationship later attracted attention following a cryptic post by Akriti about being cheated on. The post led to speculation about whether it was connected to her relationship with Shaw.

Akriti subsequently clarified that the post was not about the cricketer and said it referred to her friends.

Couple Keeps Reason for Separation Private

Akriti’s latest statement confirms that the engagement has ended, while also making clear that the couple do not want to discuss the private circumstances behind their decision publicly.
