Aishwarya Rajesh to Head Two New Female-Centric Films After ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam’, Calls It a “Big Responsibility”

Aishwarya Rajesh, one of South cinema’s most versatile performers, is preparing for her next phase of strong female-led storytelling, confirming that she has signed two new female-centric projects. The actress recently opened up about her career choices, creative responsibilities, and her growing expectations after the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

A Strong Focus on Women-Centric Stories

Speaking in a recent interaction while promoting her upcoming romantic comedy Oh..! Sukumari, Aishwarya reflected on her journey in performance-driven cinema. She revealed that her last major female-centric role was in Farhana (2023), adding that she has already been part of nearly eight such films in her career.

The actress acknowledged that working in women-led narratives comes with creative pressure and responsibility, as these films often rely heavily on the lead character’s emotional depth and screen presence.

According to her, the expectations are high, but she continues to remain committed to meaningful roles. She confirmed that she is currently in discussions for two female-centric projects, which are expected to be finalized soon.

The actress also spoke about her experience working in Sankranthiki Vasthunam, where she starred alongside Venkatesh in a family entertainer directed by Anil Ravipudi.

When asked about not being part of the director’s upcoming project featuring Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram, Aishwarya clarified that she remains open to future collaborations.

She hinted that the filmmaker may be considering her for a stronger or more suitable role in upcoming projects, possibly even a sequel or a new script. She added that she values the creative relationship and hopes to work with Anil Ravipudi again.

Success of ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam’

Sankranthiki Vasthunam turned out to be a strong commercial performer, especially among family audiences. The film reportedly grossed over ₹255 crore worldwide, according to industry tracking sources like Sacnilk.

In the film, Aishwarya Rajesh played Bhagyalakshmi, the wife of Venkatesh’s character, portraying a grounded and emotionally strong family role set in Rajahmundry.
