Malayalam actress Ahaana Krishna has released an extensive public statement addressing the family controversy that has dominated social media over the past several weeks. In the note shared through Instagram, the actress said she was deeply saddened that a private family matter had entered the public domain and felt compelled to respond after what she described as false allegations against her and her family.
According to Ahaana, the situation has caused significant emotional distress and mental exhaustion for everyone involved.
Says She Never Wanted the Matter to Become Public
Ahaana explained that her family has always believed personal issues should remain private. However, she said circumstances changed after criticism directed at her mother intensified online.
She stated that she initially spoke publicly because she believed remaining silent would allow misinformation to spread unchecked.

Describes Breakdown in Relationship
The actress said her relationship with her grandmother had deteriorated since October 2025.
According to Ahaana, the change followed a series of incidents that permanently affected their relationship. She alleged that during one confrontation, her grandmother used language that she described as vulgar, deeply offensive and emotionally damaging.
Ahaana wrote that she has chosen not to repeat the words publicly because she does not wish to revisit that painful experience.
She added that respect should never depend on age or family hierarchy.

Rejects Property Allegations
Addressing one of the major claims circulating online, Ahaana firmly denied that the family disagreement had anything to do with money or inheritance.
She said she and her sisters were raised to become financially independent and have never viewed family relationships through the lens of property or wealth.
According to her statement, attempts to portray the dispute as financially motivated are inaccurate.

The actress also referred to WhatsApp conversations and screenshots that have appeared on social media.
She acknowledged sending angry replies but argued that only selected portions of conversations were made public, while the messages that prompted those responses were omitted.
According to Ahaana, presenting isolated replies without their context creates a misleading narrative.
Denies Allegation of Physical Harm
Responding to allegations that she attempted to physically harm her grandmother, Ahaana categorically denied the accusation.
She said that during a family meeting held after her grandfather’s death, conversations had been recorded because of previous disagreements regarding what had been said.
According to Ahaana, those recordings contradict the allegations made against her.
She added that chats, audio recordings and videos exist that, according to her, support her version of events, though she has chosen not to publish them because she does not wish to expose more private family conversations.
Says Legal Action Remains an Option
Ahaana revealed that she has received legal advice and has the option of filing a defamation case over what she considers false allegations.
However, she said she has chosen not to pursue legal proceedings at this stage because she does not want children within the extended family to be affected or the dispute to become even more public.
She added that legal action could still be considered if the controversy continues.
Reflects on Her Bond With Her Grandmother
Despite the current conflict, Ahaana recalled that she once shared a close relationship with her grandmother and spent considerable time caring for her.
She said she now wonders whether that affection was based more on what she did than who she was, but added that she still chooses to remember the positive moments they shared together.
Appeals for Understanding
Concluding her statement, Ahaana said she understands that many people have formed opinions based on videos and screenshots circulating online, but believes they represent only fragments of a much larger story.
She thanked those who supported her family during the controversy and reiterated that she intends to close the chapter and move forward.
The actress also dismissed several unrelated rumours circulating online, including claims about her behaviour during her school and college years, encouraging people to verify facts before believing social media speculation.
