Yash Says He and Geetu Mohandas Became Kiara Advani’s ‘Bodyguards’ During Toxic Shoot

Yash has recalled how he and director Geetu Mohandas took extra care of Kiara Advani during the making of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The actor praised Kiara’s professionalism and commitment to the film while speaking at its audio launch in Mumbai.

Yash has opened up about one of his most memorable experiences from the sets of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, revealing that he and director Geetu Mohandas were particularly protective of co-star Kiara Advani during the shoot.

Speaking at the film’s audio launch in Mumbai on Thursday, Yash praised Kiara for maintaining her commitment to the project despite the physically demanding nature of the production.

The actor recalled being concerned about the challenges involved in some of the film’s sequences, but said Kiara quickly impressed him with her dedication to the role.

Yash said he was initially unsure how Kiara would handle the demanding schedule, particularly because several scenes required considerable physical effort.

“Kiara is an absolute professional. This film demanded a lot from all of us, so I was a little worried when she came on board,” Yash said while recalling the early days of the shoot.

He also remembered a conversation with Kiara on the first day of filming, when she asked whether he had previously worked in heavy rain.

Yash said he had not, but remained confident that the production would come together successfully.

As filming progressed, however, he said Kiara’s commitment exceeded his expectations.

The actor described her dedication to each scene as something that left a lasting impression on him.

Yash also spoke about the precautions taken on the sets during the period when Kiara was pregnant.

According to the actor, both he and Geetu Mohandas remained particularly attentive to her comfort and safety throughout production.

“Even while she was pregnant, she gave the film her hundred per cent. Geetu and I were constantly concerned about her well-being. We were like bouncers or bodyguards on set, always ensuring she was comfortable and safe,” Yash said.

He added that he would remain grateful for Kiara’s dedication to the film and described the project as something that would hold special significance for her.

His comments received applause from the audience at the event.

Yash previously defended Kiara amid social-media criticism

This is not the first occasion on which Yash has publicly backed his co-star.

Kiara had previously faced criticism on social media over bold visuals associated with the song Tabaahi. During the Toxic trailer launch in Bengaluru, Yash encouraged the actor not to allow online criticism to affect her confidence.

Addressing Kiara, Yash emphasised the importance of continuing to believe in one’s work despite negative reactions.

He said that actors should not allow criticism to distract them and suggested that audiences could ultimately respond positively to work that may initially seem ahead of its time.

The comments highlighted the supportive relationship between the two actors as they promote Toxic ahead of its theatrical release.

Toxic marks Yash’s first film after KGF: Chapter 2

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is Yash’s first major film following the enormous success of KGF: Chapter 2.

The project is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash in a gangster action drama. The film also marks a significant collaboration between actors and technicians from different Indian film industries.

The cast includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi in prominent roles.

The film is being produced by Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Production and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

Film planned for release in multiple Indian languages

Toxic has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and is scheduled for release in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
