Yash Reveals Kiara Advani Had Never Shot a Rain Sequence Before Toxic: ‘I Was a Little Surprised’

At the film’s album launch event in Mumbai, Yash recalled asking Kiara whether she had ever filmed a rain sequence. Her response surprised him, as the actor said she had never done one despite her years of work in the Hindi film industry.

Yash remembered the conversation as one of his first interactions with Kiara while discussing the demanding nature of the film.

According to Yash, he was initially concerned about how demanding Toxic would be for Kiara.

“When Kiara came into this film, I was a little worried because it is too demanding,” he said.

Yash then recalled asking Kiara whether she had previously worked on a rain sequence.

“The first time we spoke, I asked her, ‘Have you ever done the rain sequence?’ and she said, ‘Never, how is it?’” he recalled.

Yash said he was surprised by her response and joked about the fact that she had never filmed such a sequence during her career.

He then reassured her that the experience would be manageable.

Yash praises Kiara’s commitment during the shoot

As production progressed, Yash said his initial concerns were replaced by admiration for Kiara’s dedication.

The actor praised her for approaching the project with complete commitment and said she continued to give her best even while she was pregnant.

Yash also revealed that he and director Geetu Mohandas were particularly cautious about Kiara’s well-being during the shoot.

“And then I saw the way she dedicated herself, and I must say, even after she was pregnant, she came with 100% commitment,” Yash said.

He added that both he and Geetu were worried about her safety and joked that they effectively became her “bouncers or bodyguards” on set.

“We all were so scared. I was more worried. Gitu was more worried. We were more like bouncers or bodyguards, where we used to take care of her,” Yash said.

He concluded by thanking Kiara for her dedication and described the film as a particularly special project for her.

Yash compliments Tara Sutaria

During the same interaction, Yash also had words of praise for another leading woman in Toxic — Tara Sutaria.

Describing her appearance in the film, Yash called Tara a “stunning beauty” and spoke about how convincingly she fits the visual world of the story.

He recalled being told that her character looked authentic to the film’s period-inspired setting, comparing her appearance to a Disney queen or a character from that era.

Yash jokingly admitted that standing beside her made him conscious about whether his own appearance matched the period aesthetic.
