The video reportedly showed a clip of Kriti receiving the Best Actress award alongside an older interview segment in which Yami Gautam spoke about frequently being overlooked at Indian film awards.

Social media users later noticed that Yami Gautam had liked the reel on Instagram, which quickly drew attention and triggered reactions from fans online.

Several users criticised the actor for engaging with the reel, while others defended both actresses.

One user commented that the situation was highlighting “the true colours of so-called victims,” while adding that both performances were strong despite disliking the film Tere Ishk Mein.
