Upasana said she completed her Sundara Kandam Parayana on September 21. The recitation refers to the Sundara Kanda, the fifth section of the Ramayana, which focuses on Hanuman’s journey to Lanka and his search for Sita.
On the same day, she learned that the Sri Rama murti she had commissioned was complete.
“Today, as I complete my Sundara Kandam Parayana, something truly special happened,” Upasana wrote while sharing the news.
According to her post, the commission had been placed more than a year earlier with Arun Yogiraj. The project held particular significance because the idol was intended for her 93-year-old grandfather, whom she affectionately referred to as her “Thatha.”
A tribute to her grandfather’s devotion
Upasana explained that her grandfather’s lifelong devotion to the Sundara Kandam was one of the reasons she wanted to commission the special murti.
