Twisha Sharma Case: Friends Allege Husband Publicly Humiliated Her Before Death

Fresh allegations have emerged in the Twisha Sharma death case after friends of the 33-year-old woman claimed she was repeatedly humiliated by her husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, during social gatherings and family events.

Twisha Sharma was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12, less than five months after her marriage.

Speaking to media outlets, her close friends Navratan, Prerna and Purshottam alleged that Samarth Singh frequently insulted Twisha publicly and often referred to her as a “gawar”.

“He used to say she does not know anything, what has she studied, she does not know anything, nor does she do anything,” her friends alleged.

According to them, Twisha’s personality and behaviour changed noticeably within months of her marriage.

“She remained very quiet. After two to three months of marriage, she was under immense pressure from her in-laws,” they claimed.

Allegations Linked to Pregnancy and Mental Harassment

Twisha’s friends also alleged that tensions increased after she underwent an abortion, which they described as an unplanned pregnancy.

According to their claims, Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh repeatedly questioned Twisha about the pregnancy and allegedly asked who the father of the child was.

Giribala Singh, a retired judge, has also been named as a co-accused in the case.

The friends further alleged that Twisha’s parents had planned to bring her back home from Madhya Pradesh but later cancelled the trip after reportedly being warned that she would not be allowed to return if she left the house.

Another friend, Prachi, alleged that Twisha maintained separate phones for work and personal communication, and claimed that after her death, her in-laws attempted to keep the personal device away from her family.

Madhya Pradesh Government Seeks CBI Probe

The Madhya Pradesh government has now written to the Central Bureau of Investigation seeking a probe into the case.

The development comes ahead of an important hearing before the Jabalpur High Court. Officials stated that the state government will support Twisha Sharma’s family during the legal proceedings.

Relationship Began Through Dating App

According to reports, Twisha Sharma met Samarth Singh through a dating application in 2024. The couple later married in December 2025.

Following her death, Twisha’s parents accused her husband and in-laws of physical abuse, mental torture and dowry harassment.

Reported WhatsApp conversations between Twisha and her mother allegedly suggested that she felt “trapped” in the marriage.

In response, Giribala Singh denied the allegations and claimed that Twisha had been undergoing psychiatric treatment and suffered from drug addiction. However, police officials reportedly stated that no evidence supporting those claims has been found so far.

Twisha’s family has maintained that she was cheerful before marriage and alleged that continuous emotional harassment affected her mental and physical health.

Samarth Singh Remains Absconding

While Giribala Singh has received anticipatory bail from a sessions court, Samarth Singh was denied relief and remains absconding.

Bhopal police have announced a reward of ₹30,000 for information leading to his arrest.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
