Mumbai: The Traitors Season 2 has wasted little time creating rivalries and unexpected exits, with Soundous Moufakir becoming one of the contestants eliminated in the early stages of the reality show. After her departure, Soundous has opened up about the decision that sent her home, her views on Mallika Sherawat’s approach to the game and why she believes it may be time to move beyond reality television.

In an interview with mid-day, Soundous said she believes Shahneel Gill’s decision to target her was influenced by personal considerations rather than purely strategic gameplay.

After Shahneel Gill became a Traitor, she chose Soundous as one of the contestants to be eliminated. Reflecting on her exit, Soundous said she was surprised by the decision and questioned the motivation behind it.

“It was Shahneel who took my name,” Soundous said.

The actor suggested that her outspoken nature and confidence may have contributed to Shahneel viewing her as a threat. However, she believes the decision was not entirely based on what happened inside the game.

“I think when you are a girl and you choose to hurt another girl, it says a lot about your character, especially when the person you are targeting is beautiful, opinionated and confident, and hasn’t done anything to hurt you in the game,” she said.

Soundous described the decision as an indication of what she perceived to be insecurity rather than strength.

“It comes across as insecurity rather than strength. I think it was more on a personal level,” she added.

Her comments add another layer to the tension surrounding the early episodes of The Traitors 2, where contestants have had to balance alliances, deception and personal relationships.

Soundous Moufakir questions Mallika Sherawat’s approach

Soundous also shared her thoughts on Mallika Sherawat and the way the actor has presented herself during the reality show.

Mallika has spoken about different aspects of her glamorous lifestyle during the season, including anecdotes about her experiences in Hollywood. Soundous, however, believes that this focus can sometimes overshadow the strategic element that she expects from a show centred around deception and deduction.

“I think, as a personality, you might be shining, but if you want to shine that way, then please go to Bigg Boss,” Soundous said.

She argued that contestants appearing on The Traitors should remain focused on the central mechanics of the game.

“If you want to be a Traitor and join a show about Traitors, and all you want to talk about is diamonds, Paris and Los Angeles, then I would be the first one. I would only talk about Morocco and my friends,” she added.

Soundous also brought up her own international background while making her point about the way contestants choose to present themselves on reality television.

“I have a French passport; Mallika Sherawat doesn’t have one. If you’re thinking about reel cuts all day long, then I don’t think it adds to the show or makes it entertaining for the audience,” she said.

Her comments reflect her preference for contestants who engage directly with the strategy and social dynamics of the format rather than focusing primarily on their celebrity persona.

Soundous says she may be done with reality television

Soundous Moufakir is no stranger to reality television. She previously appeared on Splitsvilla and Khatron Ke Khiladi, with reality shows playing an important role in the early part of her career.

However, she now feels that it may be time to move towards a different phase professionally.

Soundous recalled that Splitsvilla was particularly significant because she was still learning Hindi when she entered the show.

“Reality started my career with Splitsvilla. At the time, I genuinely didn’t know how to speak Hindi, so it was a big disadvantage for me when I wanted to enter the film industry,” she said.

Despite the role reality television played in establishing her career, Soundous believes continuing down the same path could eventually limit her growth.

“But I think I’m done with reality now. I should also move on from it because I need to grow beyond that, and I think it’s high time,” she added.

The Traitors 2 continues to deliver early exits

The Traitors Season 2 has already seen several contestants leave the competition in its opening episodes. Among the early exits are Munawar Faruqui, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Soundous Moufakir and Karan Singh Magic.

Soundous’s departure has now added another point of discussion, particularly because of her criticism of the decision that led to her elimination.

Her comments about Shahneel and Mallika are likely to fuel further conversations around the show’s alliances and individual approaches to the game as the season progresses.

For Soundous, however, The Traitors 2 appears to be another chapter in a reality-TV journey that she now believes should give way to new professional opportunities.
