Mumbai: Nani’s much-awaited Telugu action drama The Paradise has finally arrived in theatres, and early reactions on social media suggest a divided audience response. Directed by Srikanth Odela, the film has attracted praise for its visual scale, performances and action sequences, while some viewers have criticised its narrative and drawn comparisons with other Telugu action dramas, including Pushpa.

Released theatrically on September 24, The Paradise marks the second collaboration between Nani and Srikanth Odela after their successful film Dasara. The movie has been produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner.

With its dark setting, intense promotional material and large-scale action, the film had generated considerable anticipation ahead of its release.

The Paradise X Reviews: Audience Reactions Remain Divided

Early posts from viewers on X, formerly known as Twitter, show contrasting opinions about the film.

Some audiences have praised the film for attempting to create an emotional story alongside its action-heavy presentation. One viewer described it as more than simply an action film, highlighting the effort to build an emotional world around its characters.

Another section of the audience has been particularly positive about Nani’s performance and the film’s treatment as a big-screen spectacle.

One social-media review described The Paradise as a “full-on, action-packed mass entertainer” and praised Nani for appearing in a different avatar. The viewer also singled out Raghav Juyal, calling his performance impressive and describing the pairing between the two actors as one of the film’s highlights.

The same reaction praised the direction, action and world-building while calling the film a strong theatrical experience for the Dussehra season.

Nani’s Performance Gets Praise From Some Viewers

Nani appears in a markedly intense role as Jaadal, a character caught up in a conflict involving an oppressed community.

Several early reactions have focused on his transformation and screen presence. One viewer praised his action, attitude and dance performances, while another called his performance one of the film’s major strengths.

A separate audience reaction praised the first half for its atmosphere and visual presentation.

“What a beautifully crafted slow-burn! The atmosphere, visuals, performances, and tension are on another level. Every scene keeps you hooked. Truly a cinematic experience!”

Such reactions indicate that the film’s visual design and gradual world-building have worked particularly well for some viewers.

Some Viewers Criticise the Second Half

Not all reactions have been positive.

Some users have reportedly found the film uneven, with criticism directed particularly at the second half. One reaction suggested that while the first half worked well, the latter portion became difficult to sit through.

Other social-media users have gone further, describing The Paradise as disappointing and comparing it unfavourably with other recent films.

Since these are first-day social-media reactions, they represent individual audience opinions rather than a consolidated critical verdict. Reactions can also change as more viewers watch the film and detailed reviews emerge.

Is The Paradise ‘Just Another Pushpa’?

One of the comparisons appearing in early audience discussions is between The Paradise and Pushpa.

A viewer described The Paradise as “Just another Pushpa,” apparently drawing a comparison between the films’ gritty environments, oppressed communities, larger-than-life protagonists and mass-action presentation.

However, the two films are separate stories, and an individual social-media comparison should not be treated as evidence that they have the same narrative.

The Paradise is set in a harsh slum environment and explores a community living under oppression. Its promotional material has emphasised a violent and visually distinctive world that is central to the film’s identity.

What Is The Paradise About?

The film revolves around a community struggling under oppressive conditions, with Jaadal, played by Nani, becoming increasingly involved in the conflict.

The story is connected to themes of resistance, freedom and the fight against those exercising control over the community. Jaadal gradually becomes an important figure in the struggle and encourages others to challenge their circumstances.

The makers have kept several major details of the plot under wraps ahead of release, helping maintain curiosity around the film’s storyline and character arcs.

The Paradise Cast and Crew

Alongside Nani, The Paradise features Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal in key roles.

The film is directed by Srikanth Odela, who reunites with Nani following their collaboration on Dasara. The project is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner.

Raghav Juyal’s presence has also attracted attention, particularly because the film marks his Telugu cinema debut and sees him take on an antagonist role opposite Nani.

The Paradise Releases During the Dussehra Season

The Paradise arrived in cinemas on September 24, positioning itself as one of the major South Indian releases of the festive period.

The early X reactions point to a film that has divided audiences: some viewers are embracing its action, performances, atmosphere and theatrical scale, while others have raised concerns about its storytelling and second half.

With more reviews expected after the theatrical release, the audience response to Nani and Srikanth Odela’s second collaboration will become clearer over the coming days.
