The Kerala Story 2 Box Office Collection Day 10

The political drama The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond continued its steady run at the Indian box office during its second weekend.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film added ₹7.25 crore during its second weekend, including ₹2.50 crore on Sunday, taking its 10-day total to ₹27.50 crore nett in India.

Strong Hold Despite Cricket Final

The film recorded only about a 15 percent drop on Sunday compared to Saturday, which is considered a solid hold for a second weekend.

Notably, the film managed to maintain good occupancy even during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final between India national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team, which usually affects theatre footfall.

Box Office Performance So Far

The sequel registered around a 25 percent drop from its shortened opening week total of ₹9.65 crore, which is considered a healthy trend for a mid-budget film.

With the current momentum, the movie has already emerged as a successful theatrical venture and is expected to finish its theatrical run around the ₹40 crore mark.

Comparison With the First Film

While the sequel’s collections are significantly lower than the original The Kerala Story, its performance is still considered respectable.

The first film opened with around ₹6.75 crore and eventually became a massive blockbuster, collecting over ₹220 crore nett in India.

In the early 2020s, several issue-based films achieved major box office success, including The Kashmir Files. However, similar films released later have seen relatively lower box office returns.

Despite this trend, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond has managed to attract a decent audience and maintain stable collections in its second week.
