Sooraj Pancholi Breaks Silence on Disha Salian Case: ‘I Don’t Want to Be the Soft Target Anymore’

Sooraj Pancholi has spoken publicly about his name being linked to the Disha Salian case, denying that he ever knew or met the late celebrity manager and saying he does not want to be repeatedly targeted by speculation surrounding the investigation.

In a detailed statement shared on Instagram, Pancholi said he has cooperated with investigating agencies since 2021 and remains willing to provide further information or statements if required. The actor also urged people to distinguish between media reports, public discussion and evidence established through an investigation.

“I don’t want to be the soft target anymore; I never met her,” Pancholi said while addressing the controversy.

Sooraj Pancholi Denies Knowing Disha Salian

Pancholi’s statement comes amid renewed attention on the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death. Salian, who had worked as a celebrity manager and was associated with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died in 2020.

The actor has denied having any connection with Salian and also said he had never met Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray. Pancholi maintained that he has been willing to cooperate with authorities and has already done so in the past.

His comments follow renewed investigative developments in the case.

Pancholi Reacts to CBI Investigation

According to the information provided in reports surrounding the development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR in connection with Salian’s death after proceedings involving the Bombay High Court.

Pancholi’s name has been mentioned among individuals whose roles or connections are reportedly being examined as part of the investigation. Actor Dino Morea, Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty have also been named in reporting about the probe, alongside political figures.

Being named or having one’s role examined in an investigation does not by itself establish wrongdoing. The investigation is intended to determine the facts and assess the relevance of individuals or evidence connected to the case.

‘A Headline Is Not Evidence’: Pancholi

Sharing his statement on Instagram, Pancholi wrote, “Please read because I’m sure the media won’t cover this!” He said he was making the statement public to put forward what he described as certain facts about the controversy.

The actor also called for scrutiny of what he described as “malicious propaganda and false narratives” surrounding the case. He argued that a person’s death should not automatically become a basis for damaging someone else’s reputation without supporting evidence.

Pancholi particularly objected to the way speculation can gain momentum through headlines and public debates.

“A headline is not evidence. A debate is not evidence.”

His remarks reflect his broader argument that allegations and speculation should be separated from facts established by investigators or courts.
