Veteran actor Soni Razdan has opened up about changing attitudes towards parenting and how differently families approach raising children today. In the process, she had special praise for her son-in-law Ranbir Kapoor, describing him as a wonderful father to her granddaughter Raha and a significant source of support for daughter Alia Bhatt.
In a recent interview with News18, Soni reflected on the differences she has observed between her generation of parents and those raising children today.

According to Soni, parenting has become more collaborative and involved over the years. She believes parents of the current generation are generally more patient and conscious of spending meaningful time with their children.

Looking back at her own generation, Soni explained that dedicating significant time to children was not always viewed in the same way.
“In my generation, taking out that maximum amount of time for your children was not really looked upon as some sort of virtue. It just wasn’t given that importance,” she said, adding that parenting was often placed primarily on women rather than being equally shared.
Her observations led to a broader reflection on how the role of fathers within families has changed.

Soni Razdan, meanwhile, is gearing up for her next project, Shaque.
The Netflix series is directed by Rensil D’Silva and features Parineeti Chopra, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anup Soni and Jennifer Winget, among others.
The show marks Parineeti Chopra’s series debut and her first project following motherhood. Shaque is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 24.
