CID Actor Shraddha Musale Makes Her Debut as an Author: “Becoming a Writer Was an Organic Progression”

Actor Shraddha Musale, best known for her role as Dr. Tarika in the iconic crime-drama series CID, has officially stepped into the literary world. She describes the experience as a natural extension of her career rather than a deliberate career pivot.

“At this stage, writing a book feels less like a shift and more like a continuation of the work I was already immersed in,” Shraddha shared, highlighting how her observations from years in front of the camera inspired her first publication.

From Forensic Labs to the Writing Desk

Shraddha’s transition into authorship stems from an organic process rather than a calculated decision. “Turning into a writer wasn’t planned,” she explained. “It emerged naturally from my work in the field. When publishers approached me, I realised that the insights I’ve been sharing over the years in education and professional development could be documented and shared more broadly.”

Her debut book is not a memoir but draws on the nuances of human behaviour and communication she has observed over her acting career, from television dramas to films.

Acting as a Foundation for Writing

The actor credits her diverse acting projects as crucial to shaping her literary perspective. “Acting has made me highly observant of human behaviour, presence, and communication,” she said. “Shows like Miley Jab Hum Tum, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, and Porus: Shobha Somnath Ki, as well as films like All the Best: Fun Begins, have taught me about perception and human interaction. I’ve now translated those insights into practical guidance for readers.”

Shraddha believes the sensitivity and observation skills she honed while performing complex characters allow her to write with authenticity and relatability.

Balancing Acting and Writing

Despite this new literary venture, Shraddha Musale continues to stay active in acting. She recently returned to the screen for CID 2 and the web series Thinkistan, continuing to portray strong female characters.

Looking ahead, Shraddha plans to expand her writing portfolio. “After Thrive in Corporate, I aim to explore more writing projects — be it fiction, non-fiction, or even scriptwriting. Writing complements my acting journey rather than replacing it,” she added.
