Shraddha Kapoor ‘Cried Inside the House’ During Siddhanth Kapoor’s Drug Case, Recalls Aunt Tejaswini Kolhapure

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor and her family have faced intense media scrutiny over the years, and a recent interview with her aunt, Tejaswini Kolhapure, has shed light on the emotional impact of Siddhanth Kapoor’s legal troubles.

Tejaswini, mother’s sister to Shraddha, recalled the time when political party workers protested outside the family home during the drug-related arrest of Siddhanth Kapoor, son of Shakti Kapoor. The actress was reportedly overwhelmed by the situation.

‘Shraddha Was Crying Inside’

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Tejaswini said, “The way they got affected, it was terrible. One day, one political group was shouting slogans outside the house. Shraddha and Siddhanth were crying inside. Unfortunately, this was turned into a big deal. They were really affected.”

She emphasised that Siddhanth was in the wrong place at the wrong time and insisted he has no history with drugs. “Of course he is clean. He works as a DJ all over the world, and his reputation takes a hit if anyone around him gets embroiled in such cases. People are very judgmental about the company you keep.”

The 2022 Bengaluru Incident

Tejaswini was presumably referring to the 2022 case in Bengaluru, where Siddhanth was arrested for allegedly consuming drugs at a hotel rave party. He later claimed that a drink was offered to him at the party while he was performing as a DJ and was subsequently released on bail. Tejaswini added, “The media blew it out of proportion. His name was everywhere in the papers. Uska naam kharab ho gaya.”

In November 2025, Siddhanth appeared before Mumbai police to record his statement in connection with a Rs 252-crore narcotics case linked to the seizure of mephedrone at a factory in Sangli in 2024.

Shakti Kapoor Supportive of Shraddha

Tejaswini also recalled anecdotes from Shraddha’s childhood, mentioning that her childhood nickname was “chidki chidki lollypop,” and how her mother used to call her “lolly” because she drooled a lot.

When asked whether Shakti Kapoor ever opposed Shraddha entering the film industry, Tejaswini clarified, “He was absolutely okay with her working. He knows how she is. She has had a mind of her own from the beginning. She is the apple of his eye.”

Family Bonds Today

Tejaswini added that her relationship with Shraddha has grown warmer over the years. “Now she spends time, sits for 5-6 hours, and continues to talk. It’s a completely different relationship than before,” she said.
