Sameera Reddy shares body positivity message amid discussion around Katrina Kaif

Sameera Reddy has shared a body positivity message encouraging women to embrace their bodies without being defined by outside judgement. Her post comes amid social media discussion over Katrina Kaif’s post-pregnancy appearance and shortly after Salman Khan criticised online trolling related to age, weight, looks and motherhood.

Sameera Reddy has spoken about body acceptance in a new Instagram post, sharing a message aimed at people who feel pressured to conform to conventional ideas of beauty.

Although Sameera did not mention Katrina Kaif or Salman Khan in her post, the timing has drawn attention because it follows a recent public conversation around Katrina’s appearance after motherhood. Salman had also criticised social media users for commenting on women’s bodies and appearance during a recent Bigg Boss 20 episode.

Sameera Reddy celebrates different body types

Sameera shared a video on Instagram featuring a series of words that are commonly used to describe different body shapes, including “plumpy”, “thicc”, “curvy”, “chubby”, “healthy”, “chunky” and “golu”.

Appearing in different outfits, the actor presented the labels in a positive context, turning terms that can sometimes be used judgmentally into an expression of body diversity and self-acceptance.

Alongside the video, Sameera wrote that a person’s body deserves love regardless of what other people may say.

“Whether you are a well-known personality, a young teen finding her way, a new mama, a woman seen year of judgement… or just a person who needs to hear this – your body listens and needs you to love it back irrespective of anything anyone has to say.”

She added, “Curvy – Beautiful – Luscious You,” along with hashtags including #bodypositivity and #imperfectlyperfect.

The actor also wrote over the video: “Words I love being called plumpy, thicc, curvy, chubby, healthy, chunky, and golu.”

Salman Khan addresses trolling over appearance and motherhood

Sameera’s post comes after Salman Khan spoke about social media trolling during a recent Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode.

While discussing the way public figures are targeted online, Salman questioned the tendency to mock people over their age, weight, appearance, family circumstances and career setbacks.

“Suddenly, everyone starts talking about age, saying someone has gotten old. What do you want to troll someone for? Their weight, their looks, their family, their smile, a career flop or becoming a mother? You are merely revealing your own upbringing,” Salman said, according to reports.

He also addressed criticism directed at women following pregnancy.

“Yes, I have turned 60, man. Why do you troll a woman who is pregnant? Everyone gains weight during pregnancy… she gained weight because she was pregnant; she will get fit again when she returns to films. She simply wanted to spend time with her family. Don’t troll.”

Salman did not name Katrina Kaif while making the remarks. However, his comments were subsequently discussed in the context of the online reactions surrounding Katrina’s post-pregnancy appearance.

Katrina Kaif’s appearance becomes a social media talking point

Katrina Kaif has faced social media commentary about her appearance following a recent public appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganpati celebrations in Mumbai.

The actor and her husband, Vicky Kaushal, welcomed their son, Vihaan, in November 2025. Since then, discussions about Katrina’s appearance have included commentary about changes to her body following pregnancy.

The episode has also renewed broader conversations about the expectations placed on actresses and other public figures to quickly return to a particular appearance after childbirth.

Rather than directly addressing Katrina, Sameera’s post focuses on a wider message of body acceptance and the importance of separating personal self-worth from labels or comments about physical appearance.

Sameera Reddy’s return to acting

Sameera Reddy, who has increasingly spoken publicly about body image and self-acceptance, recently returned to acting after a long break.

She appeared in ** Aakhri Sawal **, a socio-political drama directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang and featuring Sanjay Dutt. The film was released in cinemas on May 15, 2026, and was released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, according to the information available for the film.

Her latest Instagram message continues a subject she has discussed publicly over the years: challenging appearance-based expectations and encouraging people to be more accepting of their bodies.

For Sameera, the latest post is less about any single celebrity controversy and more about changing the language used to discuss bodies, particularly when women are subjected to public scrutiny.
