Years before stepping into the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1, she made headlines for reportedly rejecting a ₹2 crore fairness cream endorsement, explaining that the decision was driven by personal conviction rather than financial considerations.
The actor, known for minimal makeup and authentic on-screen appearances, has consistently spoken about self-acceptance and the importance of rejecting unrealistic beauty standards.
Why Sai Pallavi said no to the endorsement
In a 2020 interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sai Pallavi explained that she could not promote a product that suggested fair skin was superior.
She said she believes people should feel confident about themselves regardless of their complexion.

According to the actor, relatives and people around them often compared their skin tones, which affected her sister’s confidence while growing up.
She recalled that her mother would encourage her sister to eat more fruits and vegetables by telling her they would help make her complexion fair.
