Actor Ritika Singh has warned followers about a Facebook page allegedly using her identity to collect ₹400 a month through subscriptions. In a video shared on Instagram, she said the page was not associated with her and urged people to be careful before paying for content offered in her name.
According to The Times of India, Singh identified her verified Instagram profile as her only official social media account. She said people were subscribing to the Facebook page despite signs that it did not belong to her.
Ritika Singh flags spelling error on impersonating page
Singh pointed out that the Facebook page lacked a verification badge and had misspelled her name. She described these as reasons for followers to question its authenticity before spending money.
Her warning centres on a straightforward distinction: a page carrying a celebrity’s name and photographs does not necessarily have that person’s approval. In this case, Singh has explicitly distanced herself from the subscription page.
She also asked followers to report the account. Rather than sharing its link, she avoided directing more attention towards the people running it, according to the report.
Actor also raises concerns about AI-generated videos
The subscription warning comes alongside Singh’s concerns about videos using her likeness. Kerala Kaumudi reported that she addressed realistic AI-generated clips while clarifying which account she personally uses.
The two concerns should be treated separately: Singh has disowned the Facebook subscription page and warned about manipulated videos, but the available reporting does not establish that the same people are responsible for both.
What followers should check before subscribing
For anyone considering a paid celebrity subscription, the useful first step is to confirm whether the person has endorsed that exact account through an established channel.
Check the full username and account history, rather than relying on a familiar display name or profile photograph. In Singh’s case, followers should refer to the Instagram account through which she issued her clarification.
Anyone who has already paid should keep their receipt, review whether the subscription renews automatically and use the relevant platform’s support options to query the payment. Suspicious profiles can also be reported through the platform.
The available reports do not establish how many subscribers the page has, how much money it has collected or whether Facebook has removed it. Those details should remain unconfirmed unless further evidence becomes available.
