Ridhi Dogra has steadily built a career across television, streaming platforms, and films — and she has no intention of limiting herself to a single format. At a time when content is consumed seamlessly across mediums, Dogra believes the traditional boundaries between cinema, OTT, and television no longer hold the same meaning.

“I’ve never restricted myself to one medium. Everything is consumed on the same screen now – films, OTT, reality. Viewers switch between them within minutes,” she says.

For Dogra, the evolving viewing landscape makes rigid categorisation outdated.

‘The Industry Always Boxes You’

Despite the changing dynamics, Dogra acknowledges that the industry still prefers to label actors based on their primary platform.

“No matter what you do, the industry always boxes you. That has been my understanding,” she shares, calling it one of the persistent realities of working in a creative field.

However, she remains unfazed by such classifications. Confident in her choices, she adds, “It’s up to individuals. In my case, I am backing myself. Which bracket will you put me in? You’ll run out of brackets.”

Not Chasing Commercial Visibility

Dogra has featured in high-profile films like Jawan and Tiger 3, yet she insists that mainstream visibility has never been her ultimate objective.

For her, fulfilment does not automatically come with big-banner projects. Instead, she gravitates toward independent cinema and character-driven narratives.

“I want roles where I lead the narrative and portray real Indian women. Those stories feel lost somewhere,” she explains.

Her emphasis remains on strong writing and layered characters — roles where her performance meaningfully shapes the story rather than simply supporting it.

Authenticity Over Relevance

Dogra continues to experiment with formats, including her appearance on The 50. She views each new venture as an opportunity to grow.

“Every year, I try to do something that challenges me, that adds to my learnings and unlearnings as an actor,” she says.

For the actor, longevity in the entertainment industry is built on credibility rather than constant media presence. She is not interested in competing for popularity.

“Being relevant isn’t important. Being authentic is. I’m not here to run a popularity contest. I’m here to deliver to my audience. If my audience tells me I’m a bad actor, that’s when I will know I’m not relevant,” she states.

Recent Work

Dogra was last seen on the big screen in Aabeer Gulal, sharing screen space with Fawad Khan, Lisa Haydon, and Vaani Kapoor.

As she continues to navigate multiple platforms and genres, Ridhi Dogra remains firm in her stance: creative growth matters more than labels, and authenticity outweighs fleeting relevance.
