Richa Chadha Reveals Relationship Non-Negotiables With Ali Fazal: ‘It’s Respect and Trust’

Richa Chadha Says Conversations With Ali Are Now More ‘Domestic’

According to Richa, life after becoming parents has changed the nature of her everyday conversations with Ali.

The couple’s discussions now frequently revolve around their daughter and the practical responsibilities of managing a household.

“Most of our discussions these days are quite domestic, revolving around who would do what, who is paying for what, send this letter, or speak to the landlord,”

Richa explained.

She also revealed that both she and Ali are scheduled to shoot in the coming month and are planning to take their daughter along with them.

Despite the constant logistical planning that comes with parenthood and two demanding careers, Richa described the phase as a beautiful period of their married life.

“You are busy with logistics, but it’s also a beautiful time,”

she said.

‘For Me, It’s Respect and Trust’

When asked about her relationship non-negotiables, Richa identified respect and trust as the two qualities that matter most to her.

“For me, it’s respect and trust.”

She explained that trust, in her view, extends beyond confidence in a partner’s loyalty. It also involves knowing that the other person can be relied upon to take responsibility when something needs to be done.

“Trust is not just about having unwavering faith in your husband’s loyalty towards you, but also about knowing that if something needs to be done, Ali will do it.”

For Richa, reliability within a relationship is closely connected to sharing responsibilities.

The Heeramandi actor said she and Ali have developed a system in which responsibilities are divided between them.

Both partners, she explained, make sure that their respective tasks are completed so that their personal and professional lives can continue to function smoothly.

“Especially when you are ambitious, this is how you get things done,”

she said.

She also emphasized the importance of respect, saying that she does not believe a relationship can sustain itself without it.

“Where there is no respect, the relationship cannot survive.”

“It’s a miracle that we met in this industry, where people are often more concerned about everyone’s status and money.”

She added that being in an interfaith relationship can bring additional questions and scrutiny.

“It’s not easy to be in an interfaith relationship, as people keep asking questions. I think it’s a miracle that we found each other.”
