Rhiti Tiwari’s journey on Bigg Boss 20 has become a talking point beyond the usual conversations around contestants and house dynamics. The daughter of actor-politician Manoj Tiwari recently spoke about her upbringing, her relationship with her father and the financial limitations she says she experienced while trying to establish herself independently.

During a recent episode, Rhiti said that although her father’s name has given her recognition and respect, she did not receive the kind of financial support that some viewers might associate with being the child of a well-known public figure.

Her account has since sparked a debate on social media, particularly around her description of living on a monthly allowance of ₹20,000–₹25,000.

Rhiti Tiwari Says Her Father Did Not Fund Her Career

Speaking about her childhood and relationship with Manoj Tiwari, Rhiti explained that her parents separated when she was young and that her father did not live with her. According to her, she could meet him only around once a year during that period.

She said she consciously tried to build a stronger relationship with him after turning 18.

Rhiti also addressed the perception that being Manoj Tiwari’s daughter automatically meant having access to his wealth and professional network. She said that, in her experience, the biggest thing she inherited from him was his name, rather than direct financial assistance.

According to Rhiti, her father had made it clear that he would not build her career for her. She said his position was essentially that if she had the ability to succeed, she should do so through her own efforts.

She described this approach as difficult because she did not always have enough money to pursue additional learning or opportunities.

‘I Used to Get ₹20,000–₹25,000 a Month’

The most discussed part of Rhiti’s conversation involved the allowance she said she received.

She claimed that her monthly allowance was between ₹20,000 and ₹25,000, and argued that the amount did not leave her with much room for discretionary spending.

Rhiti also recalled times when she would deliberately keep her food and travel expenses low.

“I used to get a monthly allowance of ₹20,000–₹25,000.”

She went on to describe eating inexpensive vada pav on some days to keep herself full and said she would put only around ₹500 worth of diesel into her car when she needed to travel.

Rhiti used these examples to explain why she did not consider her upbringing as straightforwardly privileged despite coming from a famous family.

She also acknowledged that her father’s surname carried social value, saying that his name gave her respect when she entered a room.

Social Media Questions Rhiti’s Definition of Struggle

Rhiti’s comments quickly generated reactions across social media. Some viewers questioned whether receiving ₹20,000–₹25,000 every month could reasonably be described as financial hardship, particularly when compared with average household incomes in India.

One user questioned the situation by writing, “Yeh kis type ki gareebi hai?”

Another argued that ₹25,000 was around the level of an average monthly salary for many Indians and described Rhiti’s account as difficult to relate to.

Others used the phrase “nepo struggler” while discussing her comments, while some users compared her description of hardship with similar conversations involving children of celebrities.

These reactions reflect a broader debate around the meaning of privilege. Rhiti’s comments were specifically about her personal experience and the financial support she says she received from her father; they do not, by themselves, establish that her overall upbringing was financially comparable to that of an average Indian household.

Manoj Tiwari Has Three Daughters

Manoj Tiwari has been married twice.

He married Rani Tiwari in 1999, and they have a daughter, Rhiti. The couple later separated and divorced in 2012.

In April 2020, Manoj Tiwari married Surabhi Tiwari. The couple have two daughters together, born in 2020 and 2022.

Manoj Tiwari is therefore the father of three daughters.

What Is Bigg Boss 20 About?

Bigg Boss 20, hosted by Salman Khan, continues to bring celebrity and public personalities together inside the reality-show house.

The season has introduced a format in which contestants have opportunities to remain in the competition, adding another layer to the eviction process. Rhiti Tiwari’s comments about her upbringing have become one of the recent talking points surrounding the season.

The show airs on Colors TV and streams on JioHotstar.

The Bigger Conversation Around Celebrity Privilege

Rhiti Tiwari’s comments have opened up a familiar but complicated conversation: being born into a famous family can provide social visibility and access while not necessarily meaning that every aspect of a person’s financial life is directly funded by their parents.

At the same time, viewers are also free to question how celebrity children describe financial struggle when their circumstances differ significantly from those of the wider population.

In Rhiti’s case, her own account is that she received her father’s surname and the opportunities associated with recognition, but not unlimited financial assistance. The online debate largely centres on whether that distinction changes how her experience should be understood.
