A high-value jewellery theft case involving filmmaker and stylist Rhea Kapoor has come under investigation after diamond and emerald earrings worth approximately ₹1.35 crore were reported missing during an international trip to New York.
According to information provided by Mumbai Police, the luxury jewellery pieces had been rented from two Mumbai-based jewellers for a prestigious fashion event attended by Rhea Kapoor. The disappearance was discovered only after the team arrived in New York.
Authorities have now registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine where and when the jewellery went missing.

After checking into their hotel, Singh reportedly opened the jewellery boxes to prepare the accessories for the event. It was then discovered that both jewellery boxes were empty.

Following the team’s return to India, a formal complaint was lodged with Mumbai’s Sahar Police Station.
Police subsequently registered a case against an unidentified individual under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to theft.
