Director Aditya Dhar has long been praised for his music sensibilities, blending Bollywood classics with global hits. The track features in the film’s final 30 minutes, during a tense showdown. Hamza Ali Mazari’s (also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh) identity as an Indian spy is revealed to Omar (Aditya Uppal), who becomes the new SP following Chaudhary Aslam’s (Sanjay Dutt) death in a car blast.
After Hamza/Jaskirat eliminates Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal), Omar arrests and tortures him. Lt General Shamshad Hassan (Raj Zutshi) monitors the proceedings. IB chief Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan) intervenes, revealing a video that exposes Shamshad leaking sensitive information about Pakistan to Israel. Fearing political fallout, Shamshad halts the assault on Hamza, and as the leaked video plays, Boney M’s Rasputin underscores the tension.
Who Was Grigori Rasputin?
Grigori Rasputin was a Russian mystic and controversial advisor to the Romanovs during World War I. He gained influence by reportedly healing Tsarevich Alexei, the haemophiliac son of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra. His power alarmed the Russian elite, who assassinated him on December 30, 1916, by poisoning, shooting, and drowning him at the Moika Palace.
