Rashmika Mandanna has revealed that she is currently recovering from an injury sustained while shooting for her upcoming film Mysaa. The actor explained that the injury happened during an intense dance sequence and has temporarily affected her ability to lift her right leg normally.

In a candid social media update, Rashmika said one of the four tendons in her right hip had detached and would need to be reattached. She also revealed that this is her third consecutive injury, making the setback particularly difficult as she continues to recover.

The actor’s update combined the seriousness of the situation with her trademark sense of humour. While she is taking time away from filming, Rashmika said she has been keeping herself occupied with puzzles and enjoying some downtime, even joking about trying not to turn into a “dessert monster” after sharing a picture of cookies.

Rashmika calls Mysaa her most physically demanding film

According to Rashmika, Mysaa has been the most physically challenging project of her career so far.

The film requires demanding action and dance work, and the actor acknowledged that the physical intensity eventually took a toll. Her injury occurred while performing one of the dance sequences, after which she had to step away from her regular work schedule to focus on recovery.

Rashmika described the pain as real but said it was not unbearable. Her comments offered a more measured picture of the injury rather than presenting it in sensational terms.

The actor also acknowledged that she had been pushing herself too hard over time.

‘I’ve been treating my body like a machine’

One of the most striking parts of Rashmika’s message was her reflection on the way she had been treating her body.

She admitted that she had been treating her body “like a machine” and said the experience had made her reconsider that approach.

“I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine,” Rashmika wrote.

The statement resonated because it went beyond her individual injury. Actors and performers often work through demanding schedules involving rehearsals, action sequences, dance routines and long shooting hours. Rashmika’s comments highlighted the importance of recognising physical limits rather than assuming the body can continue performing indefinitely.

A ‘forced holiday’ during recovery

With her work temporarily paused, Rashmika has been approaching her recovery period with a lighter attitude.

The actor described the break as a “forced holiday” and said she has been spending time on puzzles while trying to keep herself entertained during the recovery process.

Her humorous reference to cookies also gave fans a glimpse of her more relaxed side at a time when her professional commitments have been interrupted.

Rather than presenting recovery as an easy process, however, her update made clear that the injury has required her to slow down after an especially demanding period of work.

Fans rally around Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika’s candid update prompted an outpouring of support from fans and followers. Many praised the actor for being open about the setback and encouraged her to prioritise recovery instead of rushing back to work.

Her decision to speak openly about the injury also offered a reminder that physical fitness and professional stamina are not unlimited. Even performers accustomed to demanding schedules can experience injuries that require time away from the camera.

For Rashmika, the experience appears to have brought an important change in perspective: pushing the body harder is not always the same as taking care of it.

As she recovers, the actor’s immediate focus is on getting better before returning fully to the physically demanding work that awaits her on Mysaa.
