Rani Mukerji Reveals Most ‘Adira’ Photos Online Are Actually Her Niece Myiesha, Who Worked on Mardaani 3

While audiences know Rani Mukerji as the formidable cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3, few realize the film also became a family affair behind the scenes. Her 19-year-old niece, Myiesha Mukerji, quietly contributed as the second assistant director, marking a meaningful milestone for the young filmmaker and the family alike.

“Myiesha worked with the director on Mardaani 3. She is like my baby, and was the first baby of the house. Most pictures on the internet that people assume are Adira’s (my daughter), are in fact Myiesha’s. For her, working on the third part was a full journey as she also starred in Mardaani with me,” Rani told Mid-Day.

A Unique Learning Experience for Myiesha

The set offered Myiesha a completely new perspective on cinema. “Myiesha has seen her Pipi (Pishi, as an aunt is addressed in Bengali) at home, and it was a different experience for her to watch me perform on set. She saw me in a different light. It is also important for the young generation to understand the hard work that goes into making a movie,” Rani added.

Even smaller family contributions were part of the film. Rani’s sister-in-law Jyoti Mukerji made a cameo as a forensic pathologist, highlighting how Mardaani 3 blended professional dedication with personal connections.
