Priyanka Chopra brought a personal touch to her Karwa Chauth celebrations this year, sharing a handmade mehendi design featuring references to both husband Nick Jonas and daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
The actor posted glimpses of the occasion on October 29, 2026, including her festive preparations, traditional outfit and family photographs. Her mehendi incorporated Nick’s and Malti’s initials, making the design a small tribute to both.
A DIY design for Nick and Malti
Rather than opting for an elaborate design, Priyanka applied the mehendi herself. She shared a close-up on Instagram Stories and wished those observing the festival a happy Karwa Chauth.
Another photograph showed her applying chashni, or sugar syrup, to the henna. In the accompanying caption, she playfully wondered whether it would help deepen the colour. The posts offered a look at the preparations behind the celebration, alongside the more formal festive photographs.
Priyanka says Nick planned to be home
In a separate post, Priyanka expressed appreciation for Nick’s effort to join the celebration. According to The Indian Express, she said he had arranged his tour schedule so he could be home, knowing what the occasion would mean to her and Malti.
The family photographs included a moment of Malti hugging her father. Priyanka’s message placed the emphasis on his presence and the opportunity to spend the festival together.
A traditional red outfit for the occasion
Priyanka wore a red ensemble with gold detailing and traditional jewellery. The photographs also showed her holding a Karwa Chauth thaali while posing with Nick.
Her captions added humour to the rituals, including a question about when the moon would appear and an acknowledgement of her own cinematic approach to the occasion.
Keeping the photographs in context
Celebrity photo collections often prompt viewers to examine individual details beyond the context of the original post. However, an unexplained feature in an image does not establish how it came to be there.
The documented story in Priyanka’s posts is her celebration with Nick and Malti: the personalised mehendi, the preparations and her appreciation for time together. Those details provide a firmer basis for coverage than assumptions about a photograph.
Priyanka and Nick’s family
Priyanka and Nick married in December 2018, celebrating with Hindu and Christian ceremonies. They welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, in January 2022.
This year’s Karwa Chauth photographs added another family occasion to the moments Priyanka has chosen to share publicly, with her handmade design bringing her husband and daughter into the same festive tribute.
