Prateik Shares Cryptic Note After Aarya Babbar’s Remarks About Raj Babbar Relationship

Actor Prateik has shared a cryptic social media note days after his half-brother Aarya Babbar made strong remarks about his relationship with their father, veteran actor Raj Babbar.

The post, which appeared on Instagram Stories, seemed to indirectly respond to recent allegations and online discussions surrounding the family dispute.

Cryptic Note About ‘Misinformation’

The message was originally shared by Prateik’s wife, Priya Banerjee Patil, before being reposted by the actor on his own Instagram account.

The note read:

“If misinformation paid bills, some people would finally be successful. #IYKYK.”

While Prateik did not directly mention Aarya Babbar or address the controversy by name, many social media users interpreted the repost as a response to the recent interview given by Aarya.

Long-Standing Strained Relationship With Raj Babbar

Prateik is the son of legendary actress Smita Patil and actor-politician Raj Babbar. Following Smita Patil’s death shortly after childbirth, Prateik was raised primarily by his maternal grandparents.

Over the years, the actor has spoken openly about the emotional distance he experienced growing up and his complicated relationship with his father.

Raj Babbar was married to theatre actor Nadira Babbar when he began his relationship with Smita Patil. Raj and Nadira have two children together — Aarya Babbar and Juhi Babbar.

Although Prateik and Raj reportedly reconciled at one stage, reports of another family rift surfaced in recent years. The tension gained attention again after Prateik did not invite Raj Babbar or members of his father’s family to his wedding with actress Priya Banerjee.

Aarya Babbar’s Explosive Comments

In a recent interview, Aarya Babbar spoke openly about the strained relationship within the family and accused Prateik of distancing himself after receiving support from Raj Babbar over the years.

Aarya claimed that communication between them stopped after Prateik’s divorce from his first wife, Sanya Sagar.

“We become villains, and the world paints Prateik like a victim,” Aarya said during the interview.

He also alleged that Prateik acknowledged Raj Babbar only when he needed financial or emotional support.

“When your career is not doing well and you need pocket money from dad, then he is your father. When you want all the benefits, then he is your father. But when you have to acknowledge him publicly, then he is not your father,” Aarya remarked.

Family Rift Continues to Draw Attention

Aarya further described the situation as emotionally painful for the family and said he would maintain some emotional distance moving forward, even if reconciliation happens in the future.

However, he added that Raj Babbar and sister Juhi Babbar would likely still welcome Prateik warmly if relations improve again.

As of now, Prateik has not issued any direct statement regarding the allegations or the ongoing family controversy.
